The Field Trip to the Amazon Fullfillment Center for small items in Goodyear, AZ, was extremely interesing. We used headsets in order to hear and ask questions due to the noise level inside the center. Our tour guides, Paloma, Brianna and Charles took us to three floors of the 875,000 sq ft facility. We saw how an item is picked from a multi-compartment moveable 8 foot cart, which is on a robot, and put into a bin by a person. Then we saw how the items were packaged, and the address label applied. The company is very concerned about privacy, and only barcodes are used until a machine prints and applies the address. The items are loaded into trucks on the ground floor, and shipped all over the US.
