February 1, 2021  Board Meeting Re-cap

We had thirty people join our February Board meeting via Zoom.  It was great to see so many faces with some wearing hats in honor of our February Tea.

After asking the group to please remain on mute unless speaking so we would not hear doorbells ringing and dogs barking, my doorbell rang prompting my dog to start barking!  Don’t you just love Zoom??? 

Our guest speaker was ARCS member, Cindy Sagers, who transferred to our Chapter from ARCS Oregon.  Cindy spoke to us about some of the challenges the research community has faced as a result of the pandemic with keeping people employed and the disruption to research.  Cindy stated that the pandemic has “differentially hit women” with their time split between research and home life.  She mentioned that ASU has a fund available for graduate students and post docs to apply for childcare funds.  Thank you, Cindy, for talking to us about these timely issues.
